So apparently there's a swine flu epidemic.
I just left the house on Friday thinking everything was fine, and there were A LOT MORE people wearing surgical masks (usually only hypochondriac nut-jobs wear them, in my opinion).
And then I see the newspaper's front page, and it says school is being cancelled because of the "epidemic". And soldiers where in the subway handing out surgical masks.
But it was business as usual where I work. *shrug*
Over the weekend, it turns out that over 100 people have died, and it's spreading to other countries.
But from what I've heard, it seems that the precautions you need to take are the normal ones: drink water, take vitamin C, cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough, don't hang around sick people, stay home if you don't feel well, and go to the doctor if you feel any flu-like symptoms.
It's scary, but it seems like people are blowing it out of proportion.
Or at least I hope that's it. : s

Thanks. Now that I'm hearing about travel bans, and that people are being quarantined. It's kind of taking the feeling of a creepy futuristic movie, like "Children of Men" or "Blindness" or "12 monkeys".

I find it weird that (For no particular reason...) we went from bird flu to pig flu in a few years. I suppose cows are next. First you cant eat lettuce, then it's tomatoes, then it's jalapeños, and then it's eanuts.
Crazy...
