April 25, 2008Zero Fest: My Chemical Romance+Smashing Pumpkins! For real this time!So much for updating soon! XD Sorry…
In my defense, I did try to update this before (ie yesterday), but I accidentally deleted it, so I had to do it over >:(
Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah, Matt Cortez was setting up for MCR and my sister and I were standing near the stage waiting for them to come out. As soon as they came out, everyone started raising their hands, holding up their cell-phones, and about 3 girls right in front of us sat on their boyfriends shoulders. >:x EDITORIAL NOTE: I’m sorry, but I hatehatehate girls who do this. You find a decent spot where you can see the stage, and some girl has the bright idea of sitting on a guy’s shoulders. I’m sure this is fun for both of them, but it SUCKS for anybody behind them. GRRR! We realized we weren’t going to see anything, so we spent the first couple of songs looking for another space. We found another spot where we could see the stage and the screen but it was farther away from the stage. I regret not looking for a good spot closer to the stage to begin with, but I always fear getting crushed. I’m a wuss. L ANOTHER EDITORIAL: I mentioned in my previous journal, I was kind of skittish before the show that there could be “emo-bashing” (fortunately, there wasn’t), so it was REALLY great to hear Gerard say something about it. That’s pretty much what he said, although I’m pretty sure he specifically said “emo”, or some other bullshit label”, because I distinctly remember the guys standing near us laughed at his pronunciation of the word “emo” (here, it’s pronounced “eh-moh”). Anyway, he’s been the only international music figure who’s said anything about this. EDITORIALIZING THE EDITORIAL: Just a comment here about the supposed contradiction of Gerard calling emo a “bullshit label”: It IS a label, because like with any subculture, it’s defined mostly by the media and people outside the group looking for a way to define what they don’t understand. At the same time, that doesn’t give people the right to beat someone up because they seem to fit some stereotype. I don’t see the contradiction in that… OK, anyway… He also mentioned, that they love They look pretty much the way they’ve looked in all their recent tour photos. PICS! (NOT MINE)
Bob’s hair is REALLY long. Mikey was wearing his “ Damn, I wish I really wish I’d been near the stage! ;) Oh, yeah, and Gerard did THIS. XD
At one point, Frank was playing on his knees right beside Gerard, and I thought something might happen, but it didn’t. Oh well, they still played a great show the infamous GWay rip-in-the pants™ is still very much alive, and played like 13 songs in a 1 hour set (including “Headfirst for Halos” and “Kill all YR friends”!). Here’s the playlist, as well as I could remember jotting it down: WTTBP, Thank you for the venom, How I Disappear, House of Wolves, Give ‘em Hell, I don’t love you, I’m not OK, Kill all YR friends, Headfirst, Hang ‘em High, Prison, Famous Last Words and You’d think there would be some small scale riot, people demanding an encore, or something, but no. There was a bit of a rush from one stage to another, as the Mars We didn’t go to see the Mars Finally, SP are next. I know there’s been a lot of controversy about Billy replacing James and D’Arcy, but as an audience member, I have to say, they sound great! Although clearly MCR have a large fan-base here, SP were the band most people were here to see, and the audience was VERY excited to see them. They played a lot of the classics (Today, Tonight, tonight, Mayonnaise, 1979, Bullet with Butterfly Wings, Ava Adore), plus some off of Tarantula, which I admit I don’t recognize, although they sounded better live than when I’ve heard them before. Oh, yeah, and also a medley of of Britney’s “Piece of me”, Buffalo Springfield's “For What it's worth” and AC/DC's "Let there be rock". o_O Yeah, it was weird! LOL Billy looked like, well Billy, bald, black long-sleeved sweater, and, most impressively, a long silver skirt with lots of ruffles (not kidding!) PICS (Not mine either). By the way, the man does not age! He’s a vampire, right? Maybe he killed James and D’Arcy and keeps their blood in vials in his fridge. Billy didn’t talk too much, but really it was the music that people were there to hear, and he let it do the talking. I have to say, the audience was really entertaining. A LOT of male bonding going on. Lots of guys singing “But weeeee don’t care….” to each other. XD Oh, yeah, I also have to mention the guy in front of us, who was shaped like a large pillow, And since it was raining, he was wearing a plastic parka, and danced by rocking from side to side, leaning on one foot and then the other. OMG He looked so funny! Not to sound mean; it was really cute. When SP were done, Timo Maas was playing on the next stage, and some people did stick around to dance, but we were too tired. I wish I had more documentation (pics, vids) to go with this, but that’s not how it worked out. And that’s all I’ll say about that because I don’t want to get all bent out of shape about it. L I’ve never been big on the idea of “festivals”, especially here in
OK, that’s it for now. Talk to you when I go to my next show. But I have a Buzzaversary coming up soon, so probably sooner than that. ;)

April 16, 2008Mexico City Zero Fest: MCR, Smashing Pumpkins, and more!PART I
I have to admit, even though I bought my tickets well in advanced, and had been waiting for this for weeks, about a week before the show I started to get a bit jittery that there could be potential for violence: there was a pretty mixed variety of bands, and MCR being on the bill, could attract emo-bashers. How wrong is it that that word even exists The fact is, whatever you may think about “emo” or “emos”, it’s ridiculous that in this day and age, kids can’t go out dressed however they want without the threat of physical violence.
But there was no violence, not even a scuffle. The only time we got pushed was when MCR finished and people rushed to the other stage to see the Mars Volta, but even that was mild. More like a light jostling...
The whole event was so smooth, so well-choreographed and ridiculously on-schedule, it was scary. VERY atypical of events in Mexico city.
Well, anyway, done with the editorializing FOR NOW
When we arrived, Austin TV was playing. They are a Mexican band that always appears masked or in costume, and they don’t have a vocalist. They sometimes have recorded vocal tracks, and their music is indie with, to my ears, touches of surf-rock. When we arrived, they seemed to be dressed as green pod-people, or maybe aliens, but then some “charros” wearing Day of the Dead skull masks took over, and rushed the pod people off the stage. At the end, the skulls, aliens and pod people were all dancing together onstage.
Next we saw Bright Eyes. I was surprised how complex his music is, since I always had Connor Oberst as a lyrics-centered folkie, but his band really sounds great. And Connor looks really hot when he’s rallying against George Dubya! Unfortunately, when he told the crowd they should be listening to The Faint, who were playing on the other stage, a lot of people took him up on it. Woops!
The Faint was already playing when we went over to see them. They played a great set of their dancey synth-rock, much to the delight of indie kids in baggy neon clothes, which I find ironic. They sound more like the 80 electro usually favored by people in black vinyl. But then again, I don’t think “nu-rave” sounds much like actual 90’s “rave music” either… Oh, well!
We saw a little bit of Belanova, who are cute and Denise was wearing shiny pink hot pants and cat ears, and sounded better live than I remembered her to, but mostly we were waiting for Kinky….
Kinky rocked it, as I expected them to. They are a band from
Next was My Morning Jacket, but I have to admit, we didn’t see them because MCR was next on the same stage as Kinky, so we waited there and looked for a good spot. We were pretty close to the stage, and I saw Matt Cortez setting up (really, I swear that's him!)
OK, I have to leave it there for now. I promise I'll update soon.
Coming up: MCR, the Mars Volta (kinda) and Smashing Pumpkins!!!
Stay tuned...

January 25, 2008"Our hearts are broken..."
There’s been a lot of talk recently about whether Heath Ledger (and before that Casey Calvert and Brad Renfro) killed himself, or whether it was an accident or whatever else. I’m not going to speculate about that, but I have noticed that a lot of people think that suicide somehow diminishes his career and his value as a human being. Now, I’m not remotely interested in glamorizing depression or suicide. Believe me, there’s nothing “sexy” or “cool” about worrying every day if the last time you said good-bye to your best friend will really be THE last time, about wondering what you could say to the family at someone’s funeral, or about figuring out in your mind the logistics of jumping in front of a moving bus. Not at all. But I also don’t think that whether someone had some kind of inner struggle that they ended up losing makes their life somehow less valuable. I don’t think it’s for anybody else to judge someone when they’re in such a bleak spot that living somehow seems worse than ending it all, that they’re in such pain that it wins out over any drive toward self-preservation, the most basic of all instincts. I think if you are personally close to someone who committed suicide, you have every right to feel stunned, angry, confused, abandoned, betrayed… It’s more than valid, but even then, usually family and friends just seem really sad and numb, like the title quote, from the press statement from Heath’s family. No, there’s nothing admirable about it. Tragedy in itself isn’t admirable. Surviving, living to tell the tale, helping others is. I want to invite people to stop judging what could be going through someone’s mind when something so unthinkable happens. If you can’t imagine, be glad.

December 31, 2007Things I`ve learned this year... and haven't."They say the past must die for the future to be born, In that case, 'die, little mother, die'..." Pulp, "Monday Morning".
Things I’ve learned about this year: - Friends: I feel like I’ve made some really good friends on BN this year. At the same time, I’ve lost touch with some of my old friends. I miss them, but at the same time, it feels kind of good to start over. Besides, they say “it’s better to be hated for something you are, than hated for something you’re not”… or something like that. - Strength: I take some things a lot better than I would have 2 or 3 years ago. Part of it is learning not to make other people’s problems my own. I’m still proud to say I’ll stand up for a friend in a scuffle, but literally taking someone else’s problems and suffering and hurting for them more than they do… well, it leads nowhere good, let’s just say. - Food: This year I’ve been learning to eat more to feed my body than to make myself feel better. Believe me, it’s a huge deal. And that leads to… - Body image: I used to think that I did not have a problem with the way I looked. That it was other people who did. But beyond that, I hid behind my looks. Gaining weight was my way of dropping out of the race. I did not want people (mostly men) to pay attention to me. And boy, did it work! I know, I'm messed up... - Honesty: Some people on BN have taught me a lot about being honest (in different ways). I hope to get to that point. In “real life”, I’m a much better listener than a talker, so it’s not that I lie. I just keep a lot of things to myself. And I don’t want to do that anymore. Things I’m still clueless about: - My future: What do I want? Where do I want to be? Do I really want to do what I’m doing for the rest of my life? Answer: no. Beyond that…. ???
- Exercise: The other part of the “body image” equation is exercise, which I still feel NO compulsion to do. I have to try to find a way to get into it. - Relationships: 100% clueless. I’m used to being alone. Day to day, it’s not a big deal. But I don’t want to be alone forever.
So that's all I want to say for now. I really want to end 2007 on a positive note, so forgive me if there are certain "controversies" I'm ignoring at the moment. I'm sure I'll get around to them at some point ;)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

October 12, 2007Part Deux: MCR in Mexico City!!!This is part II. OK, so finally, the lights went out and Gerard appeared on the stretcher singing the opening of "The End". In case you don't know , the Black Parade stage show, it means that they play the entire album in order. I also means that they have a set that moves and changes between songs, a drum riser that spins around, pyro with almost every song, confetti shooting into the audience, etc. Editorializing a bit, I can never understand why people will pay good money to go to a concert, only to throw crap at the stage. At the end of either "...Disappear" or "Sharpest lives", just as Gerard was singing the very last line of the song, someone threw something RIGHT AT HIS FACE! UGGH! My sister says it was a shoe, but I couldn't really tell. Gerard walked away, and stayed at the back of the stage for maybe a minute. We were afraid he wouldn't want to come back. But he did, like a little trouper, and didn't make a big deal about it. I hope the person who threw it got thrown the hell out of there. So, anyway... my sister took the picture and videos on her cellphone. I didn't even try, because I didn't want the distraction. One of the things she recorded was Gerard saying thanks to Mexico. He spoke a little Spanish (very cute) which is always appreciated by the fans here. It doesn't have to be perfect; the point is just to show they made an effort. Something she didn't get was later, when he said something at the end of "Famous last words", along the lines of "And now, the Black Parade is dead!", which confirmed what Craig Aaronson told me about this being the last full TBP show. During the transition between the Black Parade set and the Revenge set, a Mariachi band came out and played 3 songs. At first everyone was really into it, singing along, but about halfway through the second song, people started to get antsy and started yelling for MCR to come back out. So the band comes out finally with the "Revenge" logo background, and out of their uniform. I wrote down what they played, thought I'm pretty sure I lost track at some point: -I'm not OK -Cemetery Drive -Thank you for the venom -The jetset life... -The ghost of you -It's not a fashion statement... -Give'em hell, kid -You know what they do... -Helena
OK, so now you want to know about the band, right? -Bob, I heard, hadn't made it to the autograph sigining, so I was afraid he might not be playing, but he did. He looked pretty serious, so he might still have been sick, but he played his little heart out like a good little drummer boy. His hair is REALLY long right now (all of theirs is), but it looks pretty good. -Frank's hair is really long, too. Unfortunately, it's so long that you can't see his face when he's playing. He played with all that energy he stores god-knows-where on his tiny frame, but he pretty much kept to himself, which made me wonder whether he may have been sick, too (?). -Mikey, as you may have seen already in pics, looked AMAZING. HIs hair is kind of long, but it really suits him. He moved around quite a bit, stood at the front of the stage and smiled quite a lot. Another cute thing, he wore a t-shirt with Mexican wrestler "El Santo" on it. :) -Ray looked really psyched to be there. I think he and Gerard were the most excited by the reception they got here, and at the very end of the show, Ray and Gerard hugged as they walked off the stage. Awwww.... -And finally, Gerard. He was cute and insane and sexy as ever, doing all those little "Gerard-isms" we know and love: jumping 5 feet in the air, touching himself, laughing maniacally, licking his palm, demanding the boys in the audience "show us your tetas".XD Just a couple of nit-picky things, though: No "Bullets". And no "Frerard" But that really is nit-picking, because it the show was excellent; one of the best I've ever seen! I read in the newspaper that some people were complaining that they hadn't come back for an encore. DUH!!! The "Revenge" set is supposed to be the encore! They played 22 songs over 2 hours! They brought their whole set and pyro (which a lot of bands don't bother doing when they come to Mexico, if they bother coming at all). So they didn't play a Bruce Springsteen-style marathon set of every song they've ever recorded, but COME ON! So that's it. I'll definitely post my stuff this weekend (try and stop me), and Caroaidaam says she'll post her videos soon, too. She has almost all of it on video.
The show definitely made up for getting turned away at the autograph sigining. Well, not completely. I still have to meet them. Next time, definitely skipping work...

October 11, 2007More on the MCR show in Mexico City Part 1More on the MCR show in Mexico City Part I
It only took me almost a week to update it, right? Before the show: Saturday, I worked all day, so my fantasy/threat of stalking the band never materialized. Which I guess is kind of fortunate for all involved. My spirits were kind of low (for many reasons), so I was looking forward for the show to be great.
I had seats (up in the stands but pretty close to the stage), so I didn't need to get there super early. I got there about 2 hours before the show, bought some crappy little binoculars (they worked fine, though), and my sister and I walked toward the part of the parking lot where they park the buses, just in case we saw anybody. Some big American-looking guys (not Worm, but you get the idea), and a skinny guy with them, checking out all the fake merch, just walking in the crowd. It was Matt Cortez! I told my sister who he was, and she told me to talk to him. So I finally asked him "Excuse me, are you Matt?" He looked really surprised to be recognized. And then I asked him if I could give him some things for the guys. I said thanks, and walked away. Then I smacked myself in the head. Why didn't I get a picture? He was still there, so I went back and asked him for one. I put my arm around him. It felt nice. *shifty eyes* I said thanks and walked away again. I didn't ask him anything else. I didn't want to pry or crowd him, but mostly I was just nervous. It was still more than an hour before the show, so we walked and people-watched for a while. We went near the buses, but didn't really see anything. So we went in to the venue. I had to give up my red studded belt I've had for years! But I told myself it was a small sacrifice. Good thing we didn't bring the digital camera, or we would've had to check it in anyway, like some otheres. At the entrances, there were these written notices in English and Spanish that the show was going to be filmed. I wondered if it was for MTV or something... We asked some ushers what entrance we had to use to get to our seats. As we were walking over there, I see another group of American-looking guys, and one of them was Craig Aaronson! So I went and asked him for a picture, too (When I developed the self-confidence to walk up to strangers and ask them for pictures, I don't know). Anyway, he was really nice and the guys with him seemed very amused, like "You've got fans, dude!". He said, "If you recognized me, you must be a pretty big fan". He asked if I'd gone to the in-store. I thought of bitching to him about it, but I didn't see the point. I just told him I didn't get to see them because I didn't get there a whole day before, like some people (which is true), but that I did get soaked and hailed on. Then I remebered the sign at the entrance and asked him about it. He told me "Yeah, it's for a DVD because this is the last show of The Black Parade". SCOOP! Then I thanked him and said good-bye. Lucky thing those ushers told us the wrong door, or we never would have seen him! It took a while for the show to start, but in the mean-time, you could see that the whole stage was covered by a curtain, so obviously they had brought the whole Black Parade stage set, which is rare here. Often bands just come to Mexico without the sets and pyro and all of that. I don't know if it's just too much of a hassle or what. We also saw Brian Shechter in the pit (just for a minute or 2), talking into a radio or headset, being all intense and OCD. Some people (me) yelled at him "Brian! Brian!" but he was busy. These little girls in Black Parade costumes and Halloween make-up were following him around, it was really cute. Finally, the girls went back to their spot smiling, so I guess they got a picture or something after all.
And then... MWAHAH Update tomorrow.

October 7, 2007MCR CONCERT IN MEXICO CITY!!! SKWEEEEEEEE!!!Hi, everybody! So just a quick post. Tonight was the MCR concert here in Mexico City, and it was awesome!!! I hope to be able to post my pictures and videos by tomorrow night, but just a quick preview: It was amazing, they played their whole "Black Parade" stage show (sets and pyro included), they played for almost 2 straight hours, and the whole thing was videotaped for an upcoming DVD, because it was the LAST EVER Black Parade-themed concert! At the end of the BP segment of the concert, Gerard said: "And now, The Black Parade is dead!". A few other things: First, when I was on my way into the venue, I saw some American-looking guys and one skinny brunnette guy. It was Matt Cortez*! No lie! I was kind of shocked he was just walking around, but I went up to him and asked him if he was Matt (yes!), if I could give him a few things to give to the band (yes!), and if I could get a picture with him (yes!). So that made my day. Then, when we were in the venue trying to get to hour seats, there was another bunch of American looking dudes milling around, and I recognized one of them as Craig Aaronson**! I took a picture with him too, and I actually talked to him a little more because I guess I wasn't as stunned that he was just walking around like no big deal. He's the one that told me about the DVD. Oh, and we also saw Brian Schechter*** running around down in the pit, being all busy and cute and serious, but we were kind of far and my sister didn't get her camera-phone out in time to get a pic. And then the concert... well, the concert was amazing, that part I'll tell you about tomorrow, so stay tuned. Have a good night. I did! ;)
Footnotes for those not obsessed with everything MCR: *MCR´s guitar tech and replacement bassist and guitarist. **The band's Warner Brothers A&R guy, as seen on the "Life on the Murder Scene" DVD. ***MCR's super-hot manager.

September 26, 2007Tagged! Top 10 Movies
I've been tagged by Seb to write my top 10 movies.OK, here goes, pretty much the first 10 movies I thought of when I sat down to make this list. Here goes:
1- Fight Club
And not just because Brad is shirtless in it (a lot). It's really amazing and inspiring in that dark, black-hearted, kind of way. Based on the book by Chuch Palahniuk, so, yeah. 9- 12 Monkeys
Another great movie with Brad Pitt. A really great futuristic film by Terry Gilliam, about a future where humans are all but wiped out by disease and animals roam free. Bruce Willis is sent back to figure out what happened. Wacky time travel ensues! No, not really, but a dark, claustrophobic parable does. 8- My Own Private Idaho
I hadn't thought about this movie for a while, but the QOTD about "Affecting Movies" reminded me how touching it was. It stars River Pheonix and Keanu Reeves (I know, I know) as 2 hustlers. Keanu is a slumming rich kid, and River Pheonix is a dreamy narcoleptic who loves him. "Awww"s all around. 7- Trainspotting
Great 90's Brit-pop soundtrack, great action, incomprehensible Scottish accents, drug references gallore and Ewan McGregor! What more do you want? 6- Hedwig and the Angry Inch
What a modern musical should be! Really witty, sad, hilarious, touching. And the music stays with you: I challenge you not to sing "I put on some make-up/Turn on the eight track/I'm pulling the wig down from the shelf" LOL or (my fave) "And if you've got no other choice/You know you can follow my voice/Through the dark turns and noise/Of this wicked little town". 5- Breakfast on Pluto
Patrick "Kitten" Braden grown up in some God-forsaken Irish town in the 70's, and runs away to London, against the backdrop of IRA bombings and glam rock. Kitten (not my name-sake, actually) is such a wonderful Holly Golightly-type character who just doesn't take anything too seriously, but grows up and learns a lot without ever becoming cynical. A sweetheart of a movie. 4- Gia
3- The Rocky Horror Picture Show
"The beauty of that movie is self-expression. All these characters are rampant and totally free no matter what happens to them. They're all gonna end up dead, but they dont care". -Gerard Way. 2- Groundhog's day
I know: "Huh?". No, but really, I love comedies, I guess they just don't usually make it to my top 10, that's reserved for movies that I'm really crazy about. And I really love Bill Murray. I could watch this movie every day, ironically. And, finally: 1- Velvet Goldmine
I could watch this movie every day, too, for very different reasons. A fictional account of 70's glam rock icon Brian Slade (although pretty much a thinly veiled reference to David Bowie), Velvet Goldmine is beautiful in so many ways: wonderfully witty dialogue, gorgeous eye candy in the form of Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Ewan McGregor, Toni Collette, cameos by members of Placebo, THE BEST SOUNDTRACK EVER (Placebo, Thom Yorke, Brian Eno, Roxy Music, etc.), and: "It has the most beautiful scene of two men kissing, ever." - Stefan Olsdal OK, I may be fawning a bit now, but it really is amazing.
Well, that's it. Hope you liked, and if you didn't, TOO BAD CAUSE IT'S MY LIST BAHAHA!!! OK, I have to tag people now (this is almost as hard as the actual list): sappysuperunknown, sheisfaust, panasonicyouth, melancholysky, mooeysreindeer, claymore, hungoverandunder, starsaftersunset

September 18, 2007Top 10 BandsI've been tagged by Tina (melancholysky) to write my top 10 favorite bands. As always it's really hard for me to narrow it down to just 10, and it's more in chronological order that anything else, so don't read too much into it: 10- Tie: The Pixies/Sonic Youth/The Velvet Underground 9- The Cure 8- The Smiths 7- David Bowie 6- Suede 5- PJ Harvey 4- Placebo 3- The White Stripes 2- Interpol 1- My Chemical Romance
OK, as usual, I feel like I'm leaving a lot of people out, but this is or not giving due credit to some (see #10) but this my list for now. If you don't like my list, make your own!! In the mean time, this is who I'm tagging: Johnnynotsid, Rockinponda, Millieann282000, Caroaidaam, Voluptuosity, Seb, Skully, Ravenblackhardt, Tanya1979, Panasonicyouth

August 30, 2007Who needs real love?Who needs real love? When you have fantasy! LOL I've been expecting/dreading/preparing for this. Wow, it's really hard to narrow down my list, but I guess here are some of the main ones. Not really in any order: 1-Robert Smith: My first major rockstar/celebrity crush. He's gorgeous (even if he looks a bit different now), and his voice is so emotional and vulnerable.
2- David Bowie: What can I say? He's amazing, fearless, visionary. An original in every way. Here's a pic of him with my #3:
3- Brian Molko from Placebo: Sexy, androgynous, the singer of one of my favorite bands. 4- Brett Anderson from Suede: After the Cure and before MCR, I was obsessed (as in listening to them day and night) with the band Suede. All of them are brilliant musicians, they made absolutely beautiful music, and Brett Anderson was their elegant, stylish, sexy singer and brilliant lyricist.
And while on the subject of MCR: 5- Gerard Way: Surprise, surprise! I told you this list wasn't in order!
I'm sure I could post pictures of him all day, but I'll leave it at 2. But his looks aren't the all. So many things I love in one person: Creative, talented, hopeful, inspiring, funny, smart, sexy. Rock star bravado, geeky charm and good looks. Seriously, I could go on... No, you say? OK...moving on. 6- Milo Ventimiglia: I don't know that much about him, except that he was "Jess" on Gilmore Girls before he was on "Heroes", but I'm obsessed with "Heroes" now. He kind of looks like a corn-ball sometimes, but on the show he's all broody and dark, and YUM! 7- Johnny Depp: I don't know why I haven't really felt like watching any of the "Pirates..." movies, but I generally like watching him in anything and trust him to make really good movies. And of course he's not bad to look at.
8- Ewan McGregor: Another really great actor who usually does really great movies. He's in one of my favorite movies ever: "Velvel Goldmine" which is of gorgeous people, including Jonathan Rhys- Meyers, Christian Bale, etc.
Toni Collette has one of the greatest one-liners in the movie (and "Velvet Goldmine" is full of great lines), as Mandy Slade, at the orgy: "Finally, a woman!" And so: 9- Anglina Jolie: I don't care what anybody says about her, she is the hottest woman alive. She's also strong, intelligent, honest, and she was in another movie I love: "Gia". Oh, what a good movie. Watch it if you haven't yet. It's glamorous, horny, sad, funny, touching, etc. I'm going to cheat a little and do a 2-for-1. 10- Bettie Page/Dita Von Teese: Well, basically Dita has based her persona on Bettie (and a few others), so I don't feel like I'm insulting anyone. They're both gorgeous, sexy women who aren't afraid to show it.
OK, I feel like you all know WAY TOO MUCH about me now. Tag, you're it!: Melancholysky Sheisfaust Xmybellamuertex Darklullaby Caroaidaam Katazza Vikir0xxx Ellienor Ravenblackhardt Buzzbot (this should be fun)

August 7, 20078 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT KITTEN76Here are the rules: OK, I knew I'd have to do this. 1- I'm extremely cluttery. You can't set foot in my bedroom without stepping on random debris. Evetually, I get exasperated and spend a whole day cleaning and clearing up the mess. But it takes a while to get to that point. 2- I'm extremely jealous of people who have some kind of talent, because I always tried to learn to play instruments, or draw or paint. I write, but I don't publish it. I'm very insecure about it. I guess I have an inferiority complex because I've known a lot of incredibly talented people and I feel I don't measure up. 3- My parents are shrinks: mom's a psychologist and dad's a psychiatrist. Does that explain a lot? 4-I was born in Mexico City, we lived in London for about a year while my dad was studying. The only thing I remember about it is a park, and a poster for the movie "The Elephant Man". But I lived in Tijuana from the time I was 3 until I was 27. 5- I didn't smoke or drink until I was in my 20's. I also didn't eat red meat for about 10 years. Since I was 15 until 25. I feel a little crappy about falling off the wagon. 6- I haven't done a drug in my life. I don't judge people who have. Actually, I think it's me being a control freak: I don't want to lose control, and I guess drugs would do that. 7-I went to school with a lot of christians. In a way, it made me wary of religion; in another way, it showed me not to judge people based on it. There's all kinds, belieeeve me. 8- This list is looking a bit emo, so I'll end on a happy note: Really simple things make me happy. Good music, chocolate, the ocean, my best friend, discovering a good restaurant or a great TV show, watching a good movie, running into people I genuinely like, knowing stuff other people don't (hehe). Each of you must tag 8 more people and you can't tag someone who has already done one. Make a friend!
